FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What's an Imprint?

Imprints are sub-brands within a larger publishing house that are branded and themed for a specific audience. This allows for more precise advertising to those audiences, gives the readers a more seamless experience, helps the online algorithms show our books to the right people, and improves placement in the physical markets.

Edevane Publishing currently publishes children’s books under Explore Forever Book, sweet romance under Evertegrity Romance, planners and business accessories under Flutterby Bookery, and we have smaller imprints dedicated to specific authors or series. We publish adult nonfiction and workbooks under the main Edevane Publishing House brand.

Do you still traditionally publish for authors?

Yes, we do. However, at this time, we are accepting very few new submittals for traditional publication contracts, and a few opportunities for hybrid publishing contracts may be available.

Submittals and contracts for each imprint are managed separately. Traditional contracts already in place will continue to be published as defined therein.

Why are you doing traditional publishing, hybrid publishing, and coaching?

Traditional publishing ties up a lot of time and resources, limiting the level of positive change we can bring to the world. We can help more authors make more profit by coaching them through the technical aspects of publication.

We’ve found both fully indpendent authors and authors who opt for a hybrid publishing model need assistance with understanding how the industry works, how to manage their marketing, and assistance with setting up their author platforms in a way that is sustainable for them.

What are Plotstorms?

Page hosts Plotstorms & Sprints for a private group of sweet romance authors several times a week.

Tuesdays: We alternate between our craft book club, plotstorming together to fix plot holes or sticking points in our own stories, and writing sprints. Thursdays: We discuss and work on our marketing strategy, lead magnets, newsletters, promos, and swaps. Fridays: We focus on plotstorming and writing sprints to keep moving forward.

Are Plotstorms right for me if I'm a pantser, not a plotter?

Our authors vary between extreme plotters and extreme pantsers. Plotstorms are designed to be a safe place to bounce around ideas, but plotstorming does not negate your writing process nor suggest you to change your process.

What happens at the craft book club?

The book club is twice a month on Tuesdays. One Tuesday of each month we discuss a nonfiction craft book about writing, editing, marketing, or other author-relevant topics. Another Tuesday of each month, we  deconstruct a sweet romance novel to see what worked and what didn’t. This has proved to be a fantastic tool to help our authors stop fussing about perfection and keep moving forward.

Where do you post the reading list for the craft book club?

The reading list for our Plotstorm craft book club is posted inside the Keeping It Simple & Sweet community two months in advance of the scheduled discussions.

Books are selected based on number of requests, with some attention paid to accessbility of formats and weightiness of the topic or length of book. We want to keep this as light and easy as possible, while still progressing in our skills and understanding of the industry.

What if I can't keep up with the craft book club?

No one is required to particpate in the Plotstorm craft book club. You can just listen in and glean from the conversation, if you want. But obviously the conversation is more fun if several people have thoughts to share.

Only the first part of the Tuesday session is decidated to the book discussions, then we switch to our normal Plotstorms & Sprints.

What's so special about the KISS method of publishing?

Keeping It Simple & Sweet is a publishing method focused on sustability and maintaining balance.

Becoming an indie author is not easy. You have to learn writing, publishing, and marketing. It’s essentially three full-time jobs! It’s hard to stay balanced while trying to research and learn everything at the same time.

The KISS method starts off with Knowing your audience and yourself so you can select a marketing strategy that fits your lifestyle and reaches your target audience. Then we work on Integrating your strategy into your lifestyle with sustainable, balanced habits and systems. After we Schedule as much of your book launch activity as possible, we focus on Sustaining your success by continuing those balanced habits and systems while you’re writing the next book.

Is the KISS bootcamp only for indie authors?

The KISS bootcamp is most beneficial for sweet romance authors who know they are going to be full-time authors (now or eventually). Authors who have a manuscript ready to move forward with publishing, and know they have more books inside them. Authors who live in the United States and intend to indie publish their novels with thier own ISBNs under their own publishing company.

The KISS bootcamp can also help hybrid indie authors, since many of the same skills, habits, and systems are necessary for hybrid publishing.

Is Evertegrity Romance a vanity pubisher for sweet romance?

No. Edevane Publishing House is not a vanity publisher, nor are any of our imprints. The Library of Congress, Copyright office, and most of the industry leaders are highly prejudice against vanity publishers.

To maintain our name within the industry, we do not accept payment for publishing books. You cannot pay us to publish your book.

Paying us for other publishing-related services such as editing, cover design, SEO research, listing audits, or coaching does not imply your submittal to a publishing imprint will receive any special attention or have any higher likelihood of acceptance.

To reinforce this distinction, all submittals for publishing with Evertegrity Romance are suspended during the live KISS bootcamp.

If I take the KISS bootcamp, will you publish my novel?

No. Hybrid authors need to be aware that taking the KISS bootcamp does not guarantee that your book will be published by our house. The submittal process for having manuscripts reviewed for publication is completely separate from the coaching part of our business and Evertegrity Romance is not accepting submissions during the live bootcamp.
